ENGINEERING

System Engineer

Are you a gamechanger who brings simulations to life and are only satisfied when the model matches reality? Then we’re looking for you as a System Engineer for #TeamCTRL!

STUDENTS

Development of a Multipurpose Autonomous Driving Platform – mechanical & electrical

Design and build the physical foundation of an autonomous driving platform from the ground up. Covering mechanical structure, drivetrain, power distribution, and sensor integration, you’ll create a modular and adaptable platform ready for real-world testing.

Development of a Multipurpose Autonomous Driving Platform – Software & AI

Build the software backbone of a multipurpose autonomous driving platform. From sensor data pipelines and real-time processing to path planning and optional AI-based perception, you’ll develop a robust and extensible stack for autonomous systems.

From PLC Logic to Intelligent Systems: 6-Axis Robot and Vision Control with High-Level Programming

Discover a hybrid approach to industrial automation by combining Structured Text with C# for scalable, maintainable machine logic. Work on a real 6-axis robot control system and optionally integrate machine vision — all on the Bosch Rexroth ctrlX platform.

Research for a web-based HMI development framework

Investigate whether modern web technologies like React, Vue, or Svelte can replace vendor-specific tools for building industrial HMIs. You’ll research real-time PLC communication, build a working proof-of-concept interface, and propose a reusable framework for future development.

Research and development of modular hardware and matching software architectures

Explore strategies for modular PCB design and firmware architecture for edge/IoT devices. From low pin-count interfacing to automatic module detection, you’ll design and build proof-of-concept prototypes for flexible, next-generation embedded systems.

Research and development of an EtherCAT slave for custom & modular I/O & edge processing

CTRL Engineering is looking for a student interested in writing a thesis and/or doing an internship around the development of a web-based HMI development framework to be used in future industrial PLC system control projects.
