Long story short
Everyone enjoys a good pancake on a Sunday afternoon now and then, without stopping to think how every pancake ends up looking exactly the same, day after day, thousands of times in a row, never with one hole too many or too little batter. That precision is no coincidence: in a bakery producing at scale, it makes the difference between profit and loss. At Yummy Bakery, a pancake company in the Bruges region, that precision long depended on a dosing station that had seen better days.
What does this mean for you?
Do you recognise that spread in your own production process, that small difference between two pieces that should really be identical? CTRL engineering replaces outdated controls with precision drives and remote monitoring, even when it concerns just that one component in a larger line. At Yummy Bakery, that delivered 7 to 8% less raw material consumption, with a payback time of less than a year.
The challenge
The pneumatic control of that dosing station was outdated and caused inaccuracies in the amount of batter per pancake. The result: wasted raw materials, and quality differences from one pancake to the next, something a brand cannot afford at scale.
Our approach
CTRL engineering replaced the outdated pneumatic control with a more modern electric drive that doses far more accurately and repeatably.
The dosing station was also made smarter: its operation can now be monitored remotely, so deviations are visible immediately, even before they affect quality. Nobody needs to be physically present to check that everything is running properly, and the team can quickly correct as soon as something deviates from the norm.
“From batter to brilliance, automation is the secret ingredient that keeps Yummy Bakery ahead of the game!”
The result
7 to 8% less raw material consumption, with a payback time of less than a year: an investment that quickly pays for itself and immediately makes the quality of every piece of dough more consistent.
