The situation
Food that has to reach your plate fresh and safe depends on a cold chain that simply must never fail along the way. One failure during transport, and an entire load can be lost or become unsafe. For a transport company, such a failure is more than a technical problem: the planning of drivers, customers and deliveries grinds to a halt as well. Something you never see as a consumer, but something your food depends on every day. H. Essers, a logistics and transport company specialised in refrigerated transport, knows better than anyone how crucial that cold chain is.
What does this mean for you?
Do you run the risk that a critical component is no longer available from the original supplier? CTRL engineering designs a future-proof alternative for that exact part, often faster and cheaper than waiting until things go wrong.
The challenge
The PCB that controlled their refrigerated containers was no longer available from the manufacturer, and existing boards in the field started failing one by one. Without a replacement part, the risk of failure grew by the day, with no spare on hand.
Our approach
CTRL engineering designed a completely new relay board to replace the outdated PCB. Not just a copy, but a future-proof design that no longer depends on an obsolete component that can no longer be found, and that is also easier to maintain and replace should that ever be needed again.
“In this project, we didn't just replace the PCB board, we turned a risk into an opportunity by redesigning it for greater durability and future-proofing H.Essers' operations.”
The result
H. Essers’ refrigerated containers keep running, without depending on a part that no longer exists. A solution that takes the problem off the table for years to come, instead of postponing it.
